Knee pain often isn't only a knee problem. How your hip, ankle and foot move changes the load on your knee, especially when you run, squat or climb stairs. Dr. Joe adjusts the knee itself and the joints above and below it.

Knee problems we see

  • Runner's knee (pain around the kneecap)
  • Pain on the outside of the knee from a tight IT band
  • Knee pain from squatting, lunging or jumping
  • Stiff knees with mild arthritis
  • Knee pain linked to stiff or flat feet

How Dr. Joe helps

  • Knee joint adjusting, including the kneecap and the joint just below the knee
  • Hip, ankle and foot adjustments
  • Soft tissue work for the thigh, IT band and calf
  • Instrument adjusting for sensitive areas

When to see a medical doctor first

See a doctor if your knee locks or gives way, swells quickly after an injury, you heard a pop and can't put weight on it, or the knee is red, hot and swollen. These can signal ligament or meniscus injuries that need imaging.

Frequently asked questions

Can a chiropractor help runner's knee?

Yes, many runners come to us for it. Care focuses on the knee and on the hip and foot mechanics that load it.

What about a meniscus tear?

Some meniscus tears need an orthopedic evaluation. Dr. Joe will refer you if your exam suggests one.

Will I need to stop running?

Not always. Dr. Joe can help you adjust mileage and training while your knee recovers.
