Dr. Joe was an athlete before he was a chiropractor. He competed as a varsity pole vaulter and cross country runner, and chiropractic care helped him recover and perform. Today athletes, lifters and active adults are a big part of his practice, and many patients come in because a friend at their gym recommended him.

Why full-body adjusting matters for athletes

A stiff ankle changes how you squat. A stiff mid back changes how your shoulder presses. Dr. Joe adjusts the spine and the extremities, including the feet, ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, elbows and wrists, so your whole body moves as a unit. Care may include Diversified and drop-table adjusting, Activator and Arthrostim instrument adjusting, and soft tissue work with Vibracussor.

Staying in the game

The goal is to keep you training whenever it's safe. Dr. Joe will tell you which movements to modify while you recover and when to ramp back up. If your exam points to a tear, fracture or another injury that needs imaging or a specialist, he'll refer you out.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get adjusted before a game or meet?

Many athletes do. If it's your first adjustment, come in a few days before a big event so you know how your body responds.

Do you see high school athletes?

Yes. Adjustments for kids and teens under 18 are $40. Patients under 18 need a parent or guardian's consent.

How often should athletes get adjusted?

It depends on your sport, training load and goals. Dr. Joe will make a recommendation after your exam. There are no contracts.
